Immerse in Exotic Music and Dances

Patrick Harrigan

Dances of Universal Peace (Sufi dancing) will present Multi-Cultural Immersion in Joy! From 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., July 21, at the Thomas Center, in Gainesville. Men and women of all faiths are welcome to participate in the singing and dances accompanied by live music—an exuberant, joyful way to connect with and embody diverse spiritual teachings. No experience or partner necessary. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Words and easy steps are taught in the moment by DiAnahita, a leader certified by Dances of Universal Peace International. She says, “Singing mantras in various languages with a universal spirit, we participate in dances inspired by Hawaiian, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Native American, Goddess and Sufi sacred phrases, creating group harmony and Raising Joy!”

Cost is $10. Location: 302 NE 6th Ave. For more information, visit DancesOfUniversalPeace.org and PeacockParadise.org.
