Jun 30, 2017 06:59PM

The FL SUN Alachua Solar Co-op has selected Gainesville-based Power Production Management, Inc. (PPM) to install solar panels for cooperative members. The Co-op is open to new members until July 28, and Alachua County residents can sign up at Interested prospective members can learn more at a public solar information meeting at 6 p.m., July 11, at the Bob Graham Center on the University of Florida campus. The final, meeting will be held at 6:45 p.m., July 19, at the Millhopper Branch library.

Joining the Co-op is not a commitment to purchase panels. PPM will provide each member with an individualized proposal based on the group rate. By going solar as a group and choosing a single installer, each participant generally will save up to 20 percent off the cost of their system.

FL SUN expands access to solar by educating Floridians about the benefits of rooftop solar energy, helping them organize multiple solar installations and strengthening Florida’s solar policies, as well as its community of solar supporters. The group has helped hundreds of Floridians go solar.
